The music is improvised and inspired by the book Judith Schalansky ‘Atlas of Remote Islands, 50 islands I never set foot on and never will’. Her stories are a gateway to places you’ve never heard of, places she herself has never been to. What’s so special about her stories is that they make you feel respect and sympathy for unknown places. The ever-changing nature of these islands is beautifully captured through the ever-shifting improvisations, varied as the islands themselves, offering a unique experience with each performance.
