  1. For those who don’t speak German, here is an approximate translation…

Of course, there are line-ups more opulent than the duet of a tenor saxophone with a bass clarinet. It however opens up a wealth of possibilities: In a minority of two, both instruments can enjoy their rich range. Generally, Sophie Hassfurther (saxophone) and Oguz Büyükberber (clarinet) seem to be tempted by freedom. Only a few notes are written out (as is the melodic "Clarinet Song"), there rarely is a clear division of roles between soloist and (bass) companion.

Instead, a dialogue unfolds of vague, often lyrical sound gestures, carried out on the border between jazz vocabulary and free tonal expression: a mindfulness exercise for musicians and audience, rewarding over long passages.

  2. Good feedback! Plus ultra, dear!
